WordPress is the defacto blogging platform. But did you know it is also becoming the standard for regular websites? That’s right, and the reasons are pretty simple. WordPress is a superb content management system, WordPress itself is free, the support is fantastic, themes/templates that make your site pop and a world of site enhancing plugins, many free are just a few of the reasons WordPress is so popular.
But, there is a learning curve. Not as crazy as most because you don’t need to know any code, but even that can be almost eliminated with the WordPress help videos that are available today.
One of the ones that I like is actually a series of videos by Steve Dougherty, who I use a lot here and in other sites, and it is called Easy WordPress 3.X, or to put it another way Mastering WordPress 3.x. By the way, the 3.x simply means that Steve’s videos are up-to-date because the Version 3 series of WordPress is what is in use today.
Take a look. It’s well worth the $17 investment. In fact, you’ll save your entire investment many times with the first site, because web developers charge anywhere from a few hundred to several hundred to do what you can do yourself in a few hours, once you know how. Unless you plan to be a reseller, the Silver level or $17 is all you need to spend.
